Privacy Policy
ContentSling is a content workspace. A person who uses it (an "operator") connects their own social media accounts and schedules their own content to be published to them. This policy explains what ContentSling does and does not do with information. The short version: ContentSling is a tool, not an audience tracker. It does not collect data about the public, and it holds only what an operator puts into it.
What ContentSling does not collect
ContentSling is deliberately narrow. It does not:
- collect personal information about the people who see, like, or follow the content that operators publish;
- run advertising trackers, third-party analytics, fingerprinting, or behavioral profiling of anyone;
- build audience profiles, mailing lists, or movement trails;
- sell, rent, or share anyone's information with data brokers or advertisers.
There is no visitor tracking on this site or in the product. The only people ContentSling knows about are its operators, and only to the extent described below.
What ContentSling stores
For each operator, ContentSling stores only what is needed to do its job:
- Sign-in details for the operator's own ContentSling account (an email address and a password, stored securely).
- The content the operator adds: images, captions, links, and their schedule.
- Access tokens for the social accounts the operator connects, so ContentSling can publish on their behalf. These are supplied by each platform's own secure sign-in and are encrypted at rest.
- Replies and mentions fetched from the operator's own connected accounts, so the operator can read them in one place.
How information is used
Information is used only to operate the product for the operator who provided it: to store and schedule their content, to publish it to the accounts they chose, to show them replies and mentions on their own accounts, and to keep their account secure. It is not used for any other purpose.
Where information goes
ContentSling talks to the platforms an operator connects (for example Bluesky, Pinterest, Facebook, and Instagram) through those platforms' official APIs, and only to publish the operator's content or read replies on the operator's own accounts. Content an operator publishes becomes subject to the receiving platform's own terms and privacy policy once it is posted there. ContentSling also relies on infrastructure providers (hosting and a database) to run the service. It does not send information anywhere else.
Content and rights (operator responsibility)
Operators are solely responsible for holding the rights or licenses necessary to publish the content they schedule, and for complying with each connected platform's terms. ContentSling does not review, own, or claim rights in operators' content; it simply publishes what an operator instructs it to publish, to the accounts the operator controls.
How information is protected
- Access tokens and credentials are encrypted at rest and are never shown in the browser or returned by the product's interface.
- All traffic is served over HTTPS.
- Service keys stay on the server and are never embedded in the browser app.
- No system is perfectly secure, but ContentSling holds the minimum it needs and nothing more.
Operator controls
- Disconnect any connected account at any time to stop ContentSling accessing it. You can also revoke ContentSling's access from within each platform's own settings.
- Request a copy of your stored data, or have your account and its data deleted, by contacting us at the address below.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
